Patrick Kane ended the Chicago Blackhawks 48-year Stanley Cup drought last night with his game winning goal at 4:06 in overtime. Its unfortunate that Mike Emrick and the Philadelphia goal judge fumbled the call so badly, but nonetheless, it was an amazing goal.
Kane’s goal was set up by former Sabres’ defenseman Brian Campbell to end a game that looked like it was going in Chicago’s favor until the Flyers’ Scott Hartnell scored to tie it up with less than 4 minutes remaining in the 3rd period. The goal caps an amazing season for the 21-year old Kane, which included winning the silver medal for Team USA in the 2010 Vancouver Olympics.
