Strasburg dominates in Buffalo

Stephen Strasburg lived up to all the hype with his masterful performance in Coca Cola field today. The phenom pitched 5 shutout innings and retired the first 8 Bisons he faced.  After allowing two hits in the 5th, Strasburg was able to get the IL hitting leader, Jesus Feliciano, to ground out and end the inning.  Strasburg threw 89 pitches and recorded 5 strikeouts and 1 walk.  He allowed only 3 hits and 0 runs.

In his debut season in the minor leagues, Strasburg has allowed only 31 hits and 8 earned runs, with 65 strikeouts and 13 walks. Strasburg is 4-1 for the Syracuse Chiefs with an incredible 1.08 ERA. Today’s performance was yet another example of the  prospect’s phenomenal skills on the mound and provides more evidence that he is ready to step up to baseball’s highest level.  Strasburg is scheduled to make his MLB debut against the Pittsburgh Pirates on June 8th, finally giving the rest of the world the chance to watch the pitcher showcase his talent.

Strasburg , 21, left with a 3-0 lead, and improved to 7-2 in his first season of minor-league ball.
